NLMK DanSteel A/S is Denmark's only steel rolling mill and a giant in the industry. Using modern technology, we produce high-quality steel plates for shipbuilding, construction, oil and gas industry, the transport sector and wind industry (on/offshore). The majority of the company’s products are exported.

The plates are rolled at a temperature of up to 1,000°C and up to 8,000 tonnes of pressure. The plate thickness range between 5 and 200 millimetres. The length can be up to 30 metres and the width more than 4 metres. The steel plates can weigh over 32 tonnes.

NLMK DanSteel A/S was established in 2002 on the territory of the former Danish company Det Danske Stålvalseværk A/S, which was founded in 1940.

The company is ideally located in the town of Frederiksvaerk about 50 km to the north of Copenhagen, has its own port and is close to the lake Arresoe that supplies cooling water for production. Frederiksvaerk is situated in very scenic surroundings that is why we pay close attention to preservation of the environment.

The company gets raw materials (slabs) from NLMK Group, located in Lipetsk, 500 km south of Moscow. Several times a week ships with high quality slabs arrive at our port. Each slab weighs up to 60 tons.

NLMK DanSteel A/S has both advanced equipment for production of steel plates in various sizes and thicknesses and equipment that makes it possible to use plasma cutting, shot blasting, priming and other technologies. The company makes plates to order and delivers them just-in-time in accordance with wishes of a customer. The company is certified according to DS/EN ISO 9001:2015.

Our staff of more than 400 employees includes both skilled and unskilled workers. The production department is in close contact with maintenance (smiths and electricians) and other departments such as sales, procurement, engineering, quality and shipping. The number of non-manual workers is 110 (administration, management and so on).

Since being established in 2002, investments in new production equipment and modern technologies has reached 200 million euro. Investments of 100 million euro has been planned, so that in 2022 our production capacity will be expanded by 50% and we will produce more than 750,000 tonnes a year.
